I was born in Motueka, raised on a rural property with rural values, and educated at Lincoln University, Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology, and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
My early career was rural-based, including managing and owning beef and sheep properties, before I moved to office-based administration and accountancy in the public accounting, corporate and not-for-profit sectors.
In February 2016, I returned to New Zealand from Melbourne after 16 years in management accounting; financial planning and reporting; and corporate governance.
I bring a depth of knowledge and experience from both urban and rural env
ironments. My services cover a range of business solutions relevant to any operation from the sole-trader entrepreneur through to corporate entities. I tailor advice and solutions to your specific issues, while focussing on opportunities to increase business viability and profitability for your enterprise.
My wife Diana and I have two sons and a supportive extended family.
I value personal integrity, respecting confidentiality in all business and personal dealings. I appreciate the challenges businesses face and, rather than tackle these head-on, take a deliberative and consultative approach to problem solving, looking at viable options, operating in either an advisory or mentoring role.
Every business is unique and trading environments are always in flux, which is why a “one solution fits all” approach is never effective. I will analyse what makes your business and your situation special, and work with you to help resolve issues that cause you concern. A focus on profitability and cashflow will always be paramount in any commercial operation.
I offer my services in any way that will benefit you and enable you to focus on the parts of your business you are highly skilled at. I would be more than happy to meet with you for a free introductory discussion.
